Living Arrangements

Housing

  • Housing arrangements are subject to change based on local circumstances without prior notice. No price adjustments are possible.

Included Meals

  • Welcome meal during orientation
  • Two meals per day with host families
  • Group meal during Isla Negra overnight excursion
  • Farewell dinner with local host families

Classroom and Computer Access

  • Classroom in Providencia, a vibrant residential neighborhood in the center of Santiago.
  • Student lounge, courtyard, kitchen, and dining area near classroom
  • Library, and wireless internet access available in study center building
  • Wireless access may be intermittent due to local conditions. No refunds or price adjustments are possible.

Transportation

  • Pick up at the Santiago Airport (SCL) at the beginning of the program
  • Transportation pass included for the lenth of the program
  • Roundtrip transportation for overnight excursions

Phones

  • Information about how to obtain a local SIM card will be provided at the pre-departure orientation.
  • Students will be responsible to purchase their own calling time/minutes.

Insurance, Health, and Safety

  • Comprehensive insurance package with CISI
  • An in-depth orientation will be given on the morning after arrival, including health and safety procedures.
  • All students will be asked to use Trip Tracker, a system that keeps track of students’ locations when they are travelling independently.
  • All students must register for UC travel insurance. This is free coverage, but registration is required prior to departure.
