Living Arrangements

Housing

  • Single room in student apartment in Scopus Student Village
  • The Student Scopus Village is a large dormitory complex including many multiple level apartment buildings, gardens and public areas.
  • Each apartment has 4-5 single bedrooms surrounding a common kitchen, living room and bathroom.
  • Apartments have open-access Wi-Fi and are air conditioned.
  • Bedrooms include a bed, desk, chair and closet.
  • Public bus transportation runs regularly between the Student Village and campus.
  • Our program partner will accept roommate requests during the pre-departure process. Roommate requests cannot be guaranteed and must be mutual.
  • Housing arrangements are subject to change based on local circumstances without prior notice. No price adjustments are possible.

Meals

Meals that are included:

  • Welcome dinner
  • Farewell dinner
  • Students may choose to purchase meals in the Boyar Building cafeteria.

Classroom and Computer Access

  • Classroom and computer lab available in the Rothberg International School.
  • Classroom equipped with 'smart technology.'
  • Wireless access may be intermittent due to local conditions. No refunds or price adjustments are possible.

Transportation

  • Students should take the Nesher sherut (shared taxi) from the airport to the Boyar Building. This shuttle service costs about NIS 70 ($20).
  • Your local coordinator will help you purchase a transportation pass for buses and light rail around Jerusalem.
  • Transportation for overnight excursions included.

Phones

  • Students are strongly recommended to have a working cell phone for emergency contact purposes while abroad.
  • Rothberg International School will provide a local sim with unlimited local calls and 10 gb data for each student.

Insurance, Health, and Safety

  • Comprehensive international travel and health insurance package
  • An in-depth orientation will be given on the morning after arrival, including health and safety procedures.
  • Program partner staff will be available by telephone after hours.
  • All students must register for UC travel insurance. This is free coverage, but registration is required prior to departure.
