Grants
Automatically get money for your journey abroad.
Depending on the study abroad program you choose, you may automatically be considered for a study abroad grant. Find available grants by program type below.
Grants that you are eligible for will be automatically awarded to you by the Financial Aid Office based on level of financial need and GPA.
UCEAP
Two grants are available to UCEAP Participants:
- Betty Tate International Grant
- UCEAP Grant
There is a service requirement associated with these grants:
- While abroad, scholarship recipients must send e-mails and pictures about their experiences abroad to our office
- Volunteer to work the Programs Abroad Office Expo or a General Orientation
- Volunteer to speak as returnee for an Information Session, Country Session, or Country Orientation
- Actively support outreach and recruitment efforts upon return
- All service will be tracked and recorded to ensure fulfillment of requirements
UC San Diego Global Seminars
Two grants are available to Global Seminar Participants:
- UCSD summer grants ($2,000 for students with financial need who apply for summer financial aid)
- Betty Tate International Grant (2 $1,000 grants awarded by Financial Aid Office based on financial need and GPA)
There is a service requirement associated with these grants:
- While abroad, scholarship recipients must send e-mails and pictures about their experiences abroad to our office
- Volunteer to work the Study Abroad Expo or a General Orientation
- Volunteer to speak as returnee for an Information Session, Country Session, or Country Orientation
- Actively support outreach and recruitment efforts upon return
