Living Arrangements


  • Double room in a hotel in Chiba Prefecture in the Greater Tokyo area:
  • Daily buffet breakfast and WiFi included
  • Hotel located walking distance to Keiyo train line between Narita Airport and Tokyo Disneyland
  • Classroom space, shopping and dining facilities, a movie complex, a game arcade, and parks are nearby.
  • Housing arrangements are subject to change based on local circumstances without prior notice. No price adjustments are possible.

Classroom and Computer Access

  • Classroom building contains a lounge, library of English language books about Japan, and a computer lab
  • High-speed Internet and printer access is available
  • Wireless access may be intermittent due to local conditions. No refunds or price adjustments are possible.


  • Airport pick up/drop off for students who arrive during the specified arrival timeframe
  • Bus or train transportation for included for program activities
  • A one-week Japan Rail Pass for trip to Kyoto and Hiroshima (students must purchase themselves before entering Japan, instructions to follow)


  • Information about how to obtain a local SIM card will be provided at the pre-departure orientation.
  • Students will be responsible for purchasing their own calling time/minutes.

Insurance, Health, and Safety

  • Comprehensive insurance package with CISI
  • An in-depth orientation will be given on the morning after arrival, including health and safety procedures.
  • Program partner staff will be available by telephone after hours.
  • All students must register for UC travel insurance. This is free coverage, but registration is required prior to departure.
