Shanti Gallardo

Study Abroad Intern

Hi! My name is Shanti Gallardo and I am a 2nd year Revelle student studying Political Science - International Relations. I studied abroad on a global seminar to Santiago, Chile to finish up my Revelle Humanities requirements and it was so incredibly fun. I met some awesome people both my classmates and some locals. I experienced a wonderful music scene and really explored a new corner of the world. I'm greateful to have studied abroad and want to encourage you all to have this amazing opportunity.

As a class we visited a religious site at the very top of a mountain that overlooked the entire city of Santiago, you could see the skyscrapers and the Ades in the distance. We took a funicular up and down the mountain which I had never done before and was so cool! At the very top is a statue of the virgin mary and on the way down my friend and I found the Mexican flag. It was so ironic so of course we took a picture!

With my free time I like to do many arts and crafts, for example embroidery, foam clay figures, charcoal drawings, oil pastels, and spend time with my friends. I think it's important to enjoy life to the fullest and take as many of the opportunities presented to you as possible and I think studying aborad is an opportunity you cant let slip away! So I encourage you to explore our Study Abroad website and find the option that's right for you!
