Whether it is researching available programs and locations, making sure credits you take abroad will fit into your UC San Diego academic requirements, exploring financial aid and scholarship opportunities, or preparing for the challenges of adapting to living overseas, we are ready to help!

 

Take Your First Steps:

Before meeting with an advisor, it is important that you learn the basics to studying abroad at UC San Diego.
  • Watch a 4-minute ‘First Steps’ video outlining study abroad at UC San Diego.
  • Or - when available, attend an in-person information session offered at the Study Abroad Office.
  • Remember! It is important that you complete a First Steps video or information session before meeting with an advisor to help you gain an overview of study abroad at UC San Diego and make your advising appointment go smoothly.

Now that you have learned the basics through watching/attending First Steps, come on in for advising!
  • Check out our Advising Services page to schedule an appointment with one of our advisors.
  • Our Study Abroad Advisors can advise students both by region and academic discipline, so there is always someone in our office who you can talk to. We look forward to working with you!

 

Research Our Program Options:

Study Abroad UC San Diego offers many choices in study abroad options. Visit our Find A Program page for a list of all of our available study abroad providers. Here are some different ways you can study abroad: 

  • Study Abroad on a Global Seminars - UC San Diego's very own faculty-led programs.
  • Study Abroad through the UC Education Abroad Program (UCEAP) - the study abroad provider for the University of California system.
  • Or Study Abroad through a non-UC program provider, known as our Opportunities Abroad Program (OAP).
  • Or choose a program offered through another UC campus (like Davis, Berkeley, etc.)
  • Or Study Abroad on one of our growing Global Exchange programs.
  • There are also opportunities to work, intern, or volunteer abroad as well.

Create Your TritonsAbroad account:

TritonsAbroad is UC San Diego's Study Abroad application management system.

  • If you want to study abroad you will need to set up an account on TritonsAbroad.
  • Complete your interest profile, search for programs and locations, and apply for scholarships.
  • Once you select a program that you like, you can upload the program’s application and other important documents into your TritonsAbroad account.
