Biography
Lisa believes whole-heartedly in the benefits of experiences abroad and will eagerly help you strategize ways to overcome whatever challenges that may be holding you back.
While earning her Anthropology degree from UC Irvine, she studied abroad twice on UCEAP. She discovered the joys of paninis and crepes while in France; and relished in teaching her local friends about smores while she studied in Australia. After graduating, she taught English in Japan and now only eats ramen if it comes with an egg. It was there that she realized her calling to be a study abroad advisor.
Lisa has been working in international education since 2007, supporting both outbound study abroad participants and inbound international students. She completed her Masters degree at Lesley University, and returned to both Japan and Australia for internships abroad. In total, she has been to more than 25 countries on 6 continents.
Her biggest tip for students is to think about your goals and brainstorm all the ways you can get the most out of your experience abroad.
