Living Arrangements

Housing

  • Single or shared room in a local homestay.
  • Internet access is available in all homestays.
  • All housing is located near our on-site partner's Quito Center.
  • Housing arrangements are subject to change based on local circumstances without prior notice. No price adjustments are possible.

Meals

Meals that are included:

  • Welcome meal during orientation
  • Homestays will include three meals per day, seven days per week, while the students are in Quito. Homestay families will make reasonable effort to accommodate dietary restrictions.
  • Farewell dinner

Classroom and Computer Access

  • Classroom will be set-up in a seminar style 
  • Students will have access to the library and computer lab at the local IES Abroad Center on a shared basis with other students at the Center
  • The IES Abroad Quito Center is equipped with wireless Internet for students who bring laptop computers
  • Wireless access may be intermittent due to local conditions. No refunds or price adjustments are possible.

Transportation

  • Airport pick up and drop off at beginning and end of program

Phones

  • All students must have mobile phones that function
  • It is the responsibility of each student to acquire, either in the host country or in the US, a cellular phone for safety purposes

Insurance, Health, and Safety

  • Comprehensive insurance package with CISI
  • An in-depth orientation will be given on the morning after arrival, including health and safety procedures.
  • Program partner staff will be available by telephone after hours.
  • All students must register for UC travel insurance. This is free coverage, but registration is required prior to departure.
